Have you ever dreamt of sharing your thoughts with the world? Letting everyone know exactly what you think about your rivals football team? Sharing some wonderful news with your friends? That is exactly what a blog is for. A blog is your own personal website that allows you to write text, post images, videos and even music for the world to see. The term “blog” is an acronym for the words “web” and “log”. When formed together you get “blog”. There is virtually no limit to what you can use a blog for. Since the early 90′s, blogs have become one of the most popular social media methods with nearly 200 million active blogs on the internet today. Before the invention of blogs, the only people that could post new information onto websites were those with knowledge of advanced scripting methods such as HTML and FTP. Thanks to web publishing tools, even someone with little to no knowledge of coding a website is able to post their thoughts to share with anyone who wishes to read them. Blogs can be set up in various different ways allowing only the publisher to edit and alter their site or letting anyone they wish add their own comments or remarks to a blog post. Most blogs normally stick to one specific topic of the users choice, but are not required to do so. Others simply use it to post whatever is on their mind at the time.
